Your pregnancy: 8 weeks

Happy 8 weeks!! Yay!! :) I don't know why, but 8 weeks is a big one, and then 12 weeks will be a big one too. I am excited we are now 1 week closer to our next ultrasound and sneak peek at the baby bean as well!

I am starving this morning and need to find some good breakfast soon. I had a banana on the way in, but that isn't cutting it. I did SO good with eating yesterday, had a huge thing of fresh strawberries for breakfast, a pasta bowl for lunch and a very yummy big salad for dinner. I snacked in between, but my calorie count was really good and I was very proud of myself. So, needless to say when I stepped on the scale and it was HIGHER than yesterday I was less than pleased. I'm trying not to worry too much yet about the scale as long as I'm eating a good, balanced diet, but its irritating to be so good and have the scale go up still! I think the meds are probably contributing to it a lot, since the scale seems to be jumping up ever since I started the progesterone suppositories. I think I have about one more month on these.

I am verrrry tired this morning. I seriously wanted to take a nap the minute I walked in the door at work, I'm thinking come lunch time I will definitely take one! I'm so sleepy, and I slept good last night! I didn't even wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I slept through! Sigh, oh well, I guess I just get run down by the end of the work week and need some extra rest.

I started looking at BabyBeat Dopplers again today!! I didn't rent one 'til 14 weeks last time, but I'm seriously thinking about getting this one now... I want to check with my IM and see what she thinks first though, since she might have a different thought on them! :)

How your baby's growing:
New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

Grow sweet little kidney bean baby, grow! :) Hope you're happy and healthy in there - can't wait to see you again next week!
